Commission Info:

- Payment only via Paypal.

- I will start work after receiving half of the total payment. After receiving the final version there is no option to refund.

- The more information and materials you can provide the better. Concept art, references, game design document, etc...If there are specific details, please tell me to include them in the 'pre-production' phase.

- If for any reason I'm not able to finish your commission, you will be completely refunded.

- You will receive a high quality file in the agreed-upon format (still, HD video, .fbx, etc.)

- Within reason, I will deliver all commissions within 30 days or sooner.

- I do not do rush jobs. I take pride in the quality of my work and quality requires a methodical, conscientious workflow which a rush job precludes.

- Minor post-delivery revisions will be done free of charge but frequent, whimsical requests of this kind will not be accommodated. Major revisions (anything that can take more than 1 day of focused work) will be charged an extra 20 to 100% of the agreed-upon quote.

- If you are interested send me a note with a description of what you want, your budget and your timeline. I will then decide if I will take the commission.

- During the course of the project until completion, I will be providing updates on my progress (with screencaps) via email or pm on a regular basis.

- I reserve the right to publicize my own work for portfolio purposes unless otherwise stipulated in a Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA) provided by the client.

-Render time is never a factor in determining price quotes.

- Prices naturally depend on time, complexity and purpose of the project. The following are just some examples of low-poly assets for gaming (normal map creation not included) to give you an idea of what I could charge. Also, I am a highly-trained resident of a First World country and have First World expenses so please consider that.

  • Medium (swords, knives, computers, office chairs) $100+

Context: Received a 5-page contract with language that was too compulsory for my liking and given 2 days to respond. I translated legal documents for 6 years and know that there's a fine line between formal and intimidating. This one bulldozed through it.
The following is a legit chat transcript. Names have been changed to protect the moronic.
--------------------------------------------------
DERP: hello Avi

Avi Kohl: Hi DERP. Sorry if I came across as a hardass with the last mail but that's serious

DERP: I know and i am serious with all members in my teams thats why i told you that we can discuss anything you want before deciding

Avi Kohl: Have some news on the ZBrush front. My old professor said that the school's computers will be available for me in a few weeks. But that's a stop-gap measure. If I get a good paying job soon, I'll be able to upgrade to a more Zbrush-friendly machine

DERP: you cant do any work now with zbrush? Will there be a problem if we collaborate on [REDACTED]?

Avi Kohl: i told you: my pc is too underpowered to do high level zbrush work. The [REDACTED] could be manageable though

DERP: so as i said from the email i am here to answer any question you may have

Avi Kohl: also, I signed on to 3 other Indy projects and I'm excited about them all. but my comfort zone for juggling is yet to be seriously tested

DERP: if we collaborate i want to know that you will have enough time to spend on this project

Avi Kohl: indeed, that's not something Im comfortable promising you at this time.

DERP: as you understand we cant agree on collaborating without being able to give me something.I dont expect to give me excact number but at least to know that you will work towards finishing in a reasonable time frame

Avi Kohl: The giving has to go both ways. For starters, a less ominously-worded contract would be nice. Just from the first parapgraph, I had the sense I would be handcuffed after signing it. you can't write these things on your own. without a legal background i mean

DERP: the contract is as it is.It doesn't say anything out of logic or crazy. It is very clear and describe all details of our collaboration.I dont understand what you are afraid of.If you dont understand something tell me. Otherwise if your only problem is that it is written in a very formal way i think you should reconsider what you really want. In DERP Studios there are more than 15 members working right now and they all have read and accepted it.The decision is yours

Avi Kohl: Decision is mine indeed and I reserve the right to take a raincheck or decline if that's not possible. I'm not too fond of your demanding attitude either. The people Im currently working for are much more professional.

DERP: Demanding???Avi i havent demanded anything.I showed you what we need to do.I showed you the contract we will make in order to have a clear and good collaboration.I told you that if you have any question i am here to answer all your doubts.I think there is nothing more professional than this. The only thing you told me is to change the contract because you dont like its formal style.

Avi Kohl: Demanding AND desperate. Not a good combination. I'm only remaining in this conversation because I see it as a good learning experience. hope it is for you too. I dont know how its done where you are, but here in America, everyone has the right to walk away from a situation that just doesn't feel right and attitudes like yours only serve to confirm suspicions. Nobody throws a tantrum when someone exercises their right to not sign a contract. It's common sense.

DERP: DERP Studios is a real legal company not some amateur teenager team and i dont have time to spend either for you to get experience or for your entertainment. If you want to work profecionaly in this you should fix your attitude first.I was very open and honest with you from the beginning. You should sit and think who started this first.Me or you?Of course you can walk away anytime you feel something is not right.I would do the same. But the negativity came from you not from me.I told you again and again that if you dont understand something ask me.But i am still waiting and that you dont like the formal style of the contract is a very silly excuse when you are serious about it. I am neither demanding nor desperate and if you see something like this probably you have delusions. So go work for the others that you think are more professionals and dont waste any more of my precious time.

Avi Kohl: *claps* As much as I'm enjoying this immensely don't you have a "real legal company" to run?

DERP: i see how much serious you are about it and i dont need so much seriousness in my company. And your answers have so strong points i dont even know what to answer to you.Byeee

Avi Kohl: toodles
